Which Taekwondo Style Quiz

Answer five questions to see which style fits you: WT, ITF or ATA.

Reviewed by Daniel Reyes, 4th dan Kukkiwon, 18 years teaching  |  Last checked: October 26, 2026

WT and Kukkiwon schools focus on Olympic-style sparring and Taegeuk forms. ITF schools teach patterns with the sine wave motion and lighter contact sparring. ATA schools run a structured program with many belt steps. This short quiz points you to a style, and the school you pick still matters more.

Take the quiz

1. What do you want most?
2. How do you feel about contact?
3. What kind of forms appeal?
4. How often do you want a new belt?
5. Do you plan to teach or compete worldwide?

Answer the questions, then press the button.

How to use the result

The quiz is a starting point. Many schools blend styles, and the teacher and class culture matter more than the label. Visit a trial class at two or three schools, using the school search guide.
