Reviewed by Daniel Reyes, 4th dan Kukkiwon, 18 years teaching | Last checked: October 19, 2026Pick WT-style, ITF or ATA, then your belt. The tool shows your rank, your next belt and how many promotions remain before black belt.
Choose a style and a belt to see its rank, the next belt and how many promotions are left to black belt.
How to read the result
Gup and grade numbers count down, so a lower number is closer to black belt. The count of promotions left assumes you pass each step in order. Your school may add stripes, so real steps can be more.
What this tool does not know
Colors below black belong to each school. The WT-style order is one school’s example. ITF and ATA follow published orders. If your school’s chart is different, use your school’s chart.
Frequently asked questions
Why does my school have different colors?
